About the Foundation
Alianza Jambato is a non-governmental, non-profit organization that was born by bringing together an interdisciplinary team of professionals and national and international institutions, to work for the conservation of threatened biodiversity, species, and ecosystems. Its framework of action includes the design, implementation, and execution of conservation programs, projects for the protection and increase of vulnerable populations and habitats, research, environmental education, community engagement, environmental communication, and sustainability.
WE STARTED WITH OUR FLAGSHIP PROJECT FOR THE CONSERVATION OF THE JAMBATO HARLEQUIN TOAD
In 2021, Alianza Jambato was born as a seed project led by people committed to the conservation of this species. This project sought to join efforts to position the jambato as a flagship species and save it from extinction. The actions carried out complement the captive breeding program for this species, initiated in 2016 by the Jambatu Center.

Bylaws
Bylaws
Our Bylaws define the structure, principles and norms that guide the functioning of our organization. Guarantee transparent, participatory and coherent management with our mission to conserve biodiversity and strengthen joint work with communities.
Code of Ethics
Code of Ethics
Our Code of Ethics guides the actions of the entire organization. Define the values and principles that inspire our daily work, promoting integrity, transparency and respect in each action. Reflect on our commitment to equity, social responsibility and collaboration to advance an ethical and coherent conservation with our principles.
Safeguard Policy
Safeguard Policy
Our Safeguards Policy protects people, communities and nature with which we work. Establish measures to prevent and mitigate social, environmental and integrity risks, guaranteeing safe, inclusive and respectful spaces. Through this policy, we reaffirm our commitment to human rights, participation and collective well-being.
Institutional Values
Alianza Jambato is founded on solid principles that guide each of our actions. These values not only define who we are as an organization but also establish the ethical and operational framework under which we develop our conservation work, research, and community development. They are the compass that guides our relationships with local communities, our strategic decisions, and our commitment to socio-environmental transformation of the territory.
Intercultural Respect
We deeply value the ancestral knowledge, worldviews, and cultural practices of local communities, recognizing them as fundamental pillars for conservation. We promote a respectful and horizontal dialogue of knowledge that enriches our actions and strengthens ties with the territories.
Respect and commitment to life
Our work is based on recognizing the intrinsic value of all forms of life. We act with ethical responsibility to protect biodiversity—species, ecosystems, and ecological processes—understanding that human and non-human life are interconnected.
Transparency and honesty
We foster an organizational culture based on coherence between what we say and do. We promote accountability, access to information, and the building of trusting relationships with our allies, communities, and society at large.
Collaboration, participation, and shared responsibility
We believe in the power of collective work. We promote the active participation of communities, institutions, and other actors, recognizing shared responsibility in the management of territories and conservation processes.
Inter and transdisciplinarity
We address conservation challenges through the integration of multiple perspectives: scientific, social, educational, cultural, and community-based. We promote the construction of collective, applied, and contextualized knowledge that enriches our strategies.
Socio-environmental justice
We recognize that many threats to biodiversity are linked to social and historical inequalities. Therefore, we work toward processes that promote equity, address structural injustices, and ensure fair access to the benefits of conservation.
Innovation from the territory
We promote creative, relevant, and sustainable solutions that emerge from the dialogue between science, local knowledge, and the practical experience of communities. We value innovation as a collective, situated, and transformative process.
INCLUSION AND EQUITY
We are committed to building inclusive and equitable environments where all people—regardless of gender, ethnicity, age, or other circumstances—have equal opportunities for participation, leadership, and well-being.
Mutual care and common well-being
We foster a work environment based on respect, warmth, and mutual care. We believe that the emotional, physical, and collective well-being of our team and partners is key to the sustainability of our mission.
Tolerance, empathy and reciprocity
We promote relationships based on active listening, mutual understanding, and respect for diversity. We believe in reciprocity as a fundamental principle for strengthening trust and cooperation among diverse stakeholders.
Ethics and bioethics
Our actions are guided by the principles of non-maleficence, beneficence, autonomy, and justice. We are committed to acting with ethical responsibility toward living beings, people, and the territories we work with.
Recognition and Appreciation of Contributions
We fairly recognize and highlight the contributions, achievements, and leadership of all individuals within the Foundation, ensuring credit and authorship ethically and transparently, promoting an environment where merit and experience are valued as part of collective well-being and internal justice.
